Modern Mississauga presents Ask The City - How will local small Mississauga businesses be supported during the lockdown?
/Modern Mississauga and the City of Mississauga have come together to present an ongoing series called “Ask the City.” We’ll share relevant information here and answer your questions about our city.
Today’s question is about supporting local businesses during the pandemic.
Since most malls and businesses are closed due to Mississauga being in lockdown, how will local/small businesses be supported during the pandemic?
Although non-essential businesses are closed due to Grey-Lockdown Level restrictions, retail is permitted to be open for curbside pick-up or delivery. The community is encouraged to support small businesses and shop local this season.
To help shine a light on these small businesses and to remind residents to shop locally, the City of Mississauga and Tourism Mississauga launched the Mississauga Made campaign earlier this year.
Mississauga Made is an online initiative inspired to support and promote local products, businesses, artists, stories, activities and experiences. The Mississauga Made marketplace is a free promotional advertising opportunity for all Mississauga-based businesses.
Guidance for businesses can be found on the City’s website including news and updates for the business community and free webinars to help businesses respond to the impacts of COVID-19.
