Today’s question is about firework permits.
Do I need a permit to set-off fireworks in my backyard?
Yes, you do need a permit from Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services (MFES) if you wish to set-off fireworks on a day other than the specified holidays in the Fireworks By-law. These holidays are Canada Day, Victoria Day, Diwali and Chinese New Year.
To obtain a permit:
Completed application form, documentation and fee of $244.93 should be mailed to the following address at least 14 days before the event.

Residents are not allowed to set-off fireworks on any street in Mississauga at any time. Fireworks are also not allowed in a park without a valid approved permit.
