Modern Mississauga presents Ask The City - How can I support food banks and community food programs?
Modern Mississauga and the City of Mississauga have come together to present an ongoing series called “Ask the City.” We’ll share relevant information here and answer your questions about our city.
Today’s question is about how to donate to food banks and community food programs
How can I support food banks and community food programs?
Our community has been deeply affected by COVID-19. Thousands of residents need food support due to job loss and the suspension of school and community centre food programs.
During these uncertain times, we can continue to support each other by donating to The Mississauga Food Bank to help people who need access to food.
Information on other local food programs in Mississauga can be found on the Peel Food Map. This is an interactive online map that provides residents and agencies with information on how to access or donate to food programs in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon.
Many programs are accepting donations for food, diapers, personal care products, and other essential items to support our community through this pandemic.
To donate in your community, visit the Peel Food Map and contact the program to find out what supplies they need.
Every contribution you make, no matter the size of it, will make a difference in the lives of so many in our community!
If you’ve got a question about the City, we want to hear from you!
Please send your questions to info@modernmississauga.com with “Ask the City” in the subject line.
