Mississauga fashion designer Maya Charbin is helping the community by creating hand made PPE masks
World renowned Mississauga fashion designer Maya Charbin should be in the final planning stages for her annual Spring Fashion Show. With the world navigating uncharted waters, Charbin has taken a proactive approach and pivoted from creating stunning outfits to PPE masks for our community and beyond.
She humbly says:
”In a world full of uncertainty, we all need to stick together…let’s make sure you and the people around you are safe. I am doing my little bit by making these beautiful reusable masks for you and your family.”
She’s working tirelessly and producing close to 1,000 PPE masks per week from her Mississauga studio.
Each PPE mask comes with an adjustable nose frame for comfort, soft and adjustable straps for behind your ears and as per Maya, is “heart made and hand finished.”
There’s enough slack with the straps for you to put a medical grade PPE inside Maya’s masks.
They’re breathable, washable and reusable, made from 98% cotton and 2% other materials.
She’s creating and selling custom designs through her website and there’s an option for delivery or through a safe no-contact pickup from her studio.
A portion of the proceeds for her hand made PPE masks go right back into our community via Trillium Health Partners.
Thank you, Maya, for your continuous dedication to your city…to our city, and for using your time, talents and resources to help keep us safe in style.
