A Mississauga film festival to cool you off on the August long weekend
The MISAFF film festival returns the first long weekend of August with a stellar selection of films from all over the world. The hilarious Italian comedy BANGLA (which won the Italian version of the Oscar just recently) will be the opening film for the RED CARPET GALA at the Cineplex Mississauga where the director Phaim Bhuiyan will be present for Q & A after the film. A phenomenal opening party at the Rec Room at Square One will follow the opening film. Toronto band MOST PEOPLE, Montreal's sensational musician Denique Leblanc and Montreal’s dance choreographer Ina Roy of BOLLYWOOD BLAST will be some of the performers you will enjoy as you mingle with celebrities from the film world. The weekend is filled with critically acclaimed films and the festival pass is only $40 in advance for the regular pass and includes all the movies, the party and the talks ($55 for the VIP All Access Pass).
This is a juried festival and a jury of 6 industry professionals will decide the awards for the films. The awards will be announced on closing night when Hardik Mehta's hilarious first feature ROUND FIGURE (Kaamyaab) will screen. Mehta is going to be there for Q & A all the way from India as well. The weekend is filled with director's talks, mixers, cocktail and networking events and parties. If you love cinema or just want to enjoy a weekend with the family, MISAFF is the festival for everyone. Courageous cinema is coming to the heart of Mississauga.
